Dr. Sylvia A. Earle

Dr. Sylvia A. Earle is a pioneering oceanographer, explorer, and conservation leader dedicated to advancing ocean science and protecting Earth’s life-support systems. A National Geographic Explorer at Large and founder of Mission Blue, she has led over 100 expeditions, logged thousands of underwater hours, and published more than 250 works. Former Chief Scientist of NOAA, she has advised major institutions and contributed to global ocean policy and exploration initiatives.

Earle has been instrumental in developing ocean technology, leading underwater missions, and promoting marine conservation through initiatives like Hope Spots.
