Daniel Roseberry
Daniel Roseberry is an American fashion designer and artist who was born in 1985 in Dallas, Texas. The son of an Episcopalian priest and an artist, Daniel grew up in a conservative household steeped in both religion and art, a tension that would later shape his distinctive design perspective. He has served as the artistic director of Schiaparelli since 2019, and is the first and only American born designer to become a couturier of a historic French maison.
Before moving to Paris, Daniel spent a decade training at Thom Browne in New York, where he ultimately became Design Director for both men’s and women’s collections.
At Schiaparelli, Daniel has earned widespread acclaim for honoring the legacy of the house—the fusion of fashion and art—while leading it into a new golden age. Drawing deeply from founder Elsa Schiaparelli’s fascination with Surrealism, he has reinvented her iconic motifs of anatomy and the natural world through bold new expressions in jewelry, hardware, and silhouette. At the same time, he has continued the house’s tradition of technical innovation, rebellious materials, molded leather, and sculptural metal, further blurring the lines between fashion and fine art.
Under Daniel’s direction, Schiaparelli—once considered the last great “sleeping beauty” of the fashion world—has reemerged as haute couture’s most daring voice, offering a powerful vision of how fashion and art can co-exist in the 21st century. In 2024, he was named CFDA’s International Designer of the Year.
