Sal Slaiby
Wassim “Sal” Slaiby has been recognized for three consecutive years on the Billboard Power100 List. This was no small feat for a man who arrived in Canada at the age of 16 with no family and built an empire in under a decade. Sal is the CEO of XO Records (home to global superstar The Weeknd, Nav, and Oscar/ Grammy nominated artist Belly) as well as Founder & CEO of SAL&CO (a leading partner with Maverick/ Live Nation). Beyond North America, Sal now sits as Head of International Partnerships at Anghami (Middle East and North Africa #1 music streaming service). In addition, Sal serves on the Board of Advisors at Global Citizen (philanthropic powerhouse).
For six consecutive years, The Weeknd has earned multiple #1 albums and singles on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts. The Weeknd’s accolades also include record-setting worldwide sold out tours, Oscar nominations, and multiple Grammy, AMA, Billboard and MTV awards, solidifying him as one of the biggest global superstars of our generation. In 2016, Sal signed rapper and longtime friend, French Montana and released his breakthrough hit “Unforgettable” which lead to global success surpassing 2 billion streams along with multiple nominations. Together, French and Sal launched The Suubi Hospital Mission, which benefits over 300,000 citizens in Uganda.
Sal currently resides in Los Angeles, CA with his wife Rima Fakih (the first Arab/Immigrant Miss USA) and their two beautiful children.
