Ebs Burnough
Ebs Burnough is an acclaimed filmmaker, producer, writer, and cultural leader operating at the intersection of global storytelling, politics, and institutional stewardship. Recently awarded the prestigious 2026 Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Burnough has spent nearly two decades directing strategic initiatives across the arts, public policy, and the private sector.
Currently, he serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Sundance Institute, guiding the Sundance Film Festival through a historic global transition. As CEO of Hatch House Media, he spearheads a premium production slate spanning film, television, theatre, and gaming. His directorial work includes the internationally acclaimed documentaries The Capote Tapes and Kerouac’s Road: The Beat of a Nation (distributed by Universal Pictures), with the highly anticipated feature Dusty currently in production. Burnough is also in production on an upcoming podcast series Tea & Vodka.
Burnough’s unique perspective was forged in American politics, where he served as Senior Advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama and Deputy White House Social Secretary.
