Johan is Chairman of the Board and partner of the family owned company Mellby Gård; a conglomerate consisting of approximately 15 controlling investments predominantly within industry, retail & brands, life sciences and services. Previously he acted as CEO of Mellby Gård between 2013-2024. He started his career in investment banking before joining the private equity group EQT Partners. After his tenure at EQT he joined Smarteyes, a fast growing optical retailer co-founded and controlled by Mellby Gård. He holds a M.Sc from Chalmers University of Technology and a MBA from INSEAD. Johan currently holds several board member assignments within the Mellby Gård group and is also a board member of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. Since last year, he is the Chairman of the Board of the Brilliant Minds Foundation.
