RIVER

RIVER’s debut album “A Dying Source” coming the fall of 2026 is a sonic blend of her childhood idols Elvis, Prince and Madonna, her teen love for Portishead, MGMT and Mazzy Star seen through the lens of her live musician roots.

From an early age RIVER was surrounded by her dad’s vinyl collection. The music of Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, The Beatles, Elvis and Prince had a groundbreaking effect on her and birthed what would become her deepest desire – to become an artist.

When she was seventeen her dad passed away. The loss left her with a broken heart, reflecting on life and all the dreams she had kept buried inside of her.

She began to travel on her own to escape her hometown, Gothenburg Sweden, and everyone in it. During the travels she re discovered and devoted her time to the one thing she felt good at in life – writing and performing songs.

Her travels took her to Germany, Australia, the US and at the age of twenty RIVER ended up in the Mexican city of San Miguel de Allende, working at a theatre, acting in plays and musicals. She founded a jazz and blues band by recruiting what seemed to be the greatest musicians in town and for two years, she played bars, clubs and festivals in Mexico City and the neighbouring areas.

Returning to Sweden she moved to Stockholm and began working on what would become RIVER.
