What do former U.S. President Barack Obama, environmental activist Greta Thunberg, musician The Weeknd and supermodel Naomi Campbell have in common? They all spent the same two days in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 2019.

No, this wasn’t for the ABBA reunion or flowery Midsummer celebrations. Instead, they were all participating in an invite-only gathering hosted in the ornate Stockholm Grand Hôtel. That event is, aptly, called Brilliant Minds.

The foundation has hired a new CEO, Annastasia Seebohm, who previously served as CEO of global membership group Quintessentially Group, and Ek quietly has recruited members of some of Sweden’s most prominent families to serve on the Brilliant Minds board of directors. Spotify, a music and media streaming service, is headquartered in Stockholm.
